A key highlight of Corsair trimarans is the proprietary folding mechanism that simplifies trailering and berthing. Solid aluminum folding struts maintain complete control over the folding motion, eliminating flexing or racking. Stainless steel bolts on the inboard end of each beam lock the floats securely in position for sailing.

The wingnets stay fully attached throughout the entire folding process. A frictionless fixing setup lets the nets self-tension as the floats move, making it possible to fold or unfold the trimaran even while motoring under power.

Single-handed operation takes under a minute and is typically done while afloat. Sailors can raise or press down the inboard end of a cross beam straight from the safety of the cockpit after removing four bolts. Balanced system geometry and horizontal float movement keep the required effort minimal.
