Seawind Catamarans
Seawind Catamarans is Australia’s most popular choice of cruising sail and power catamarans producing some of the world’s best designs that are sold all over the globe. Since 1982 the company has been owned and managed by Richard Ward, an experienced yachtsman who has cruised the world, and and has helmed Seawind from strength to strength, now building over 30 boats a year and have built well over 300 catamarans.
The Seawind Group now employ over 550 staff stretching over multiple continents with more than 20 agents internationally and exporting to all parts of the globe. With over 15 catamaran and trimaran models in production, and the production capabilities to continue to develop some of the worlds most interesting and exciting multihulls, the Seawind Group are one of the largest multihull producers in the world.
In October 2010 Seawind Catamarans acquired Corsair Marine, the world’s foremost trailerable trimaran manufacturer who has built over 2,500 trimarans during their 30+ year history. Having spent 20 years manufacturing in North America, Corsair Marine relocated their management and manufacturing facility to Vietnam.
For over 10 years Corsair Marine has been building high performance, light weight composite boats built from fibreglass and carbon, using the latest technology including resin infusion and vacuum bagging.
Seawind Catamarans relocated the production of their catamaran models to the Corsair Marine factory, along with their own team of shipwrights, high skilled tradesmen and management to oversee the manufacturing and to also cooperatively develop the manufacturing techniques of Seawind and Corsair.
