Watersprint
Watersprint provides cost-efficient water disinfection solutions based on patented UVC LED technology. Developed in 2013 by scientists and engineers from Lund University, the company offers an eco-friendly alternative to conventional mercury-based UV systems, capable of reducing up to 99.99% of viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens.
The core of the innovation lies in the use of specialized light-emitting diodes that produce light in the UVC range. Unlike traditional lamps, this technology is mercury-free and highly durable, making it suitable for a wide range of applications where safe water is essential.
Global expansion and technology portfolio
In 2024, Watersprint expanded its global footprint by acquiring the patents and product portfolios of Acuva™ Technologies. Today, the company operates under three distinct brands—Watersprint®, Acuva™, and Azure™—maintaining a presence in both North America and Europe.
The integration of these brands brings together two primary technical approaches:
- Reflective chamber technology: Watersprint’s original method for optimized light distribution.
- IntenseBeam™ technology: A high-precision disinfection method acquired from Acuva.
This equipment is designed for high performance under various conditions, offering a reliable safety barrier for drinking water systems. Whether installed in residential units or as part of the technical infrastructure on a motorboat, these systems ensure high-purity water without the use of harmful chemicals.
