Seahub - Yacht Maintenance Software
Founded by Matthew Hyde and Sam Wheaton, who developed the platform based on their direct experience with engineering challenges in the marine industry, Seahub is the flagship product of Hunter Oceanic.
This intuitive, cloud-based yacht management software is designed as a Planned Maintenance System (PMS) to enhance the reliability, safety, and operational efficiency of both superyachts and commercial vessels.
The platform serves as a centralized hub for captains, engineers, and fleet managers to collaborate on vessel data and document essential processes. Its core functionality is divided into several specialized modules:
- Maintenance & Equipment: Users can build a comprehensive database of onboard equipment to track lifecycles and implement manufacturer-recommended maintenance plans, routine checks, and one-off repairs.
- Compliance & ISM: The software supports the implementation of the International Safety Management Code (ISM) and Safety Management Systems (SMS). It allows for the scheduling of drills, safety inspections, and the management of hours of rest to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Operational Logs & Inventory: Real-time inventory tracking with low-level alerts is integrated alongside daily logs, defect reports, and fluid analysis tools that convert sample reports into intuitive performance charts.
- Project & Warranty Management: Designed to handle yard periods and haul-outs, this module tracks task progress and costs. It also facilitates worklists and warranty claims during the handover of new-build boats.
- Document & Crew Administration: A digital database stores all vessel-related documents with expiration alerts, while crew profiles track licenses, travel documents, and certifications.
The system features multi-user access with customizable permissions, allowing administrator oversight across a single boat or an entire fleet. By providing a framework to capture all information relating to safe manning and operations, the technology ensures that critical data remains with the yacht throughout its lifecycle.
