Rim Drive Technology (RDT) is an innovator in electric mobility for both surface and underwater applications. The company develops and manufactures electric motors with power outputs ranging from 0.5 to 50kW, serving leisure, industrial, commercial, and subsea sectors.

The product range is designed to be lightweight, highly efficient, and compact. A key technical feature of Rim Drive Technology is the absence of a conventional propeller shaft; instead, the blades are attached to an outer ring. This design minimizes the risk of entanglement with ropes or fishing nets and reduces noise and vibration during operation.

Before shipment to global clients, each motor undergoes extensive testing at the company’s production facility in the Netherlands. The hardware is built with saltwater-resistant materials and utilizes water-lubricated bearings, which reduces maintenance requirements and eliminates the need for oil or traditional sealings.

Rim Drive Technology also provides a comprehensive suite of complementary equipment under its own brand. This includes LiFePO4 batteries, monitors, throttle controls, motor controllers, and cabling, allowing for the delivery of integrated propulsion systems tailored to specific boat requirements.
