QuenchSea is a brand owned by Hydro Wind Energy that produces a portable, human-powered desalination device designed to convert seawater into fresh drinking water instantly. The product relies entirely on manual effort rather than batteries, fuel, or external power sources, making it a practical solution for sailors and emergency preparation.

The system combines a triple pre-filtration process with an industrial reverse osmosis membrane. As raw seawater enters the unit, pre-filters capture sediment, suspended solids, parasites, pathogens, and microplastics.

A hand lever drives an internal hydraulic mechanism to generate up to 60 bar of pressure, pushing water through the semipermeable membrane to eliminate 98% of dissolved salts. An integrated energy recovery device recycles pressure during operation to minimize manual strain.

Output reaches 4 to 6 litres (1 to 1.60 US gallons) of fresh water every hour, adding up to 192 litres daily in optimal conditions. The output stays below 1,000 TDS, satisfying World Health Organization guidelines for clean drinking water.

QuenchSea designed the equipment for straightforward long-term maintenance and emergency deployment. The compact layout fits easily into small storage lockers or emergency kits, and step-by-step visual instructions on the body let anyone operate the device without prior technical training.
