KM Yachtbuilders
Based in Makkum along the IJsselmeer, KM Yachtbuilders entered the industry in 1999 by taking over a shipyard that already possessed three decades of expertise in aluminum construction.
Under the direction of owner Eeuwe Kooi, the yard combined this deep manufacturing heritage with a forward-thinking perspective, positioning the business as a dynamic and innovative player in the custom yacht market. The facility is easily accessible by water, and the team regularly opens its doors to clients looking to experience the building environment firsthand.
The company focuses heavily on constructing and outfitting custom-built aluminum sailing yachts, while also supplying high-grade aluminum hulls for both sailing and motor yacht projects up to 30 meters in length. Beyond complete yacht builds, the yard constructs and services specialized aluminum components for onshore and offshore applications.
The precision of their metalwork is highlighted by their history of building structural aluminum components for premier Dutch yards, including Royal Huisman and Feadship’s De Vries shipyard.
Maintaining a position in this demanding sector requires strict adherence to top-tier quality standards. KM Yachtbuilders relies on an experienced, in-house team of metalworkers, interior carpenters, and marine engineers who consistently manage the intricate balance between structural strength and refined finishing.
