International Registries, Inc. and its affiliates (IRI) provide comprehensive administrative and technical support for the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Maritime and Corporate Registries. With a history in flag State administration dating back to 1948, the organization oversees one of the world’s most prominent registries, which currently encompasses over 202 million gross tons and 5,625 vessels.

IRI operates a global network of 28 offices, empowering owners to register a yacht, record mortgages or financing charters, incorporate a company, and issue seafarer documentation from anywhere in the world. This infrastructure is supported by a commitment to round-the-clock service, ensuring clients receive full support at any hour, seven days a week.

The RMI offers versatile registration options under national legislation and the RMI Yacht Code, covering private yachts, private yachts limited charter, commercial yachts, and passenger yachts. A notable advantage is the ability for RMI-flagged private yachts to charter in French and Monégasque waters by obtaining a Temporary Certificate of Registry for Yacht Engaged in Trade, bypassing the need for full commercial registration.

Additional features of the RMI Registry include:

  • Flexible Home Port Selection: Owners may select either Bikini or Jaluit as the home port, allowing two different yachts to share the same name provided they are registered in different ports.
  • Structured Ownership: Yachts must be owned through an RMI corporation, a limited or general partnership, a limited liability company, or a qualified foreign maritime entity.
  • Global Accessibility: The reach of the 28-office network ensures that registration and documentation services remain available regardless of the location of the owner or the asset.
