Espen Øino
Born in Oslo, Norway, Espen Øino has been fascinated by boat design and naval architecture throughout his whole life. After graduating from the faculty of Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, he started his professional career working for Martin Francis on the iconic Eco project (now named Zeus).
In 1994, he set up his own studio and has since, together with his team of international co-workers been responsible for the design of close to seventy significant yachts such as Skat, Octopus, Galactica Super Nova, Cloudbreak, Hermitage, Serene, Stella Maris, Solandge, Kismet, Elysian, Dilbar, Infinity, Energy, Luminance and Launchpad.
He also spearheaded the groundbreaking Silver series of high-performance fuel-efficient superyachts, the 36m Silver Yachts Catamaran as well as the Amels 60m and 80m Limited Edition.
Powerboat designs include the Windy Shamal, Alizé and Huracan, and the newly launched SR40, as well as the foil assisted Vandal Explorer catamarans.
Espen Øino International is based in Monaco and is today considered one of the leading design studios for bespoke design and engineering in marine mobility, powercraft, large motor yachts and tenders, with a client base stretching all around the world. The variety of designs reflects the diversity of its clients.
