Yard RPM
Yard RPM is a specialized online application designed for the preparation, planning, and execution of shipyard and refit periods. Developed by Captain Allan Skanderup Nielsen, the platform draws on decades of maritime experience to streamline the transition between a vessel’s Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and active shipyard tasks.
The software centralizes all technical clarifications, eliminating the need for parallel spreadsheets and fragmented email chains. Key features include a custom-built tendering module for comparing quotes and a mobile-friendly interface that allows crew members to upload progress notes and images in real time. These inputs are used to automatically format progress reports and track snags throughout the refit process.
For management companies and owners, Yard RPM provides financial oversight and transparency. The platform utilizes customized approval protocols for job cards and contract variations, ensuring that all additional works are monitored and approved before execution. This workflow maintains a clear audit trail and simplifies the final commissioning process.
Shipyards can also integrate with the platform, either by invitation from a vessel or by using it as a client portal. The system can be linked to in-house ERP software via API, providing a swift overview of approval statuses and project milestones. By fostering collaboration between captains, management, and shipyards, Yard RPM creates a comprehensive record of executed jobs that can be transferred back into the vessel’s long-term maintenance records.
