X-Yachts
Founded in Denmark in 1979, X-Yachts built an international reputation by engineering high-performance racing sailboats during the 1980s that dominated IOR competitions worldwide. Combining hull speed expertise with luxury craftsmanship, the shipyard expanded into high-performance cruising yachts, debuting iconic models such as the X-412 and X-562 throughout the 1990s.
The new millennium brought landmark developments, including high-achieving racers like the IMX 40 and IMX 45 alongside the entry into the luxury deep-water market with the X-Yacht 73. Subsequent generations introduced refined performance cruisers, including the X-43, X-40, X-50, and the flagship X-55, blending fast sailing characteristics with comfortable accommodations.
The shipyard also established dedicated One Design classes, with models like the X-35 and X-41 building strong international fleets recognized by ISAF. To satisfy long-distance offshore sailors, the award-winning Xcruising line emerged, led by the European Yacht of the Year-winning Xc 45. These designs feature deeper V-shaped hull geometries for superior interior volume and motion comfort without sacrificing core speed capability.
Building on decades of competitive success, the Xperformance series incorporates advanced composite technology, optimized hull forms, and modern sail plans tuned specifically for IRC and ORC handicap racing, delivering balance, structural strength, and precise handling under sail.
