World Cruising Club
World Cruising Club Ltd organizes global sailing events and ocean rallies, best known for establishing the world-famous Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC).
The organization originated from the inaugural ARC in 1986, which was created by renowned cruising author Jimmy Cornell. His vision was to form an inclusive, community-focused ocean event designed to improve safety standards, provide offshore support, and build sailing confidence among long-distance cruisers rather than focus strictly on pure racing.
Since that first fleet of 209 vessels, over 8,000 boats and thousands of international sailors representing more than 40 nationalities have crossed the Atlantic under the ARC and ARC+ banners. Participants range from young families to retired cruisers, with many sailors returning repeatedly to join the organized ocean passages.
Beyond Atlantic crossings, World Cruising Club manages an expanded global portfolio of offshore, ocean-crossing, and island-hopping rallies around the world. Every year, over 450 boats and approximately 1,600 crew members take part in these structured cruising events.
The organization also operates Noonsite, an extensive online port directory and global planning tool that provides cruisers with essential clearance, port, and practical navigational intelligence for worldwide voyages.
