Vaan Yachts

Vaan Yachts is a Dutch shipyard co-founded by Igor Kluin and Nienke van ‘t Klooster with a mission to prove that luxury sailing and environmental protection are compatible. Based in the Netherlands, the company specializes in high-end sailing catamarans designed with circular principles at their core.

The brand’s philosophy, “Sail The Planet,” addresses the environmental impact of the yachting industry by utilizing materials that can be fully recycled at the end of the boat’s lifespan.

The hull of every Vaan is constructed from recycled aluminium, sourced from post-consumer waste such as old window frames, traffic signs, and license plates. This choice of material offers significant structural advantages, providing a rigid, safe, and silent platform that does not flex or vibrate like traditional composites. The interior spaces further emphasize sustainability through the use of certified wood, recycled fabrics, and cork decking, creating a refined and natural atmosphere.

Every yacht in the fleet—ranging from the R4 at 12.80m to the flagship R8 at 23.80m—features an all-electric propulsion system. These vessels rely on renewable energy sources, including solar panels and hydro-generation, to power everything from the engines to induction cooking. This eliminates the noise, smell, and emissions associated with traditional combustion engines, providing a more immersive connection to nature.

Designed specifically for private owners rather than the charter market, Vaan yachts prioritize living space and ease of handling.
