The Törkmar inboard electric motors for boats are highly efficient and extremely quiet. Glide along, and all you’ll hear is the gentle gurgling of water around the propeller, the rustling of leaves, and the songs of birds. You can be assured that you will be using minimal watts to navigate your way.

Knowledge leads to efficiency

Just like the strong kayaker is very capable of using a large bladed paddle, the Törkmar motor is capable of turning a large propeller. It is a PMAC motor wound specially for low speed applications, sub 1000 RPM.

It has the highest torque rating of any motor in its category. It’s a cool customer too and rarely needs cooling.

A 13″ prop has only 43% of the surface area of a 20″ prop.

The advantage of Törkmar’s internal bearing

Unlike systems that rely on an external thrust bearing or block – which requires extra space and adds components to fit – Törkmar motors utilise a high-capacity double row angular contact bearing sealed within the motor housing. This bearing’s design effectively handles the axial thrust from the propeller, as well as radial loads.

Its sealed nature protects against contaminants, contributing to a longer, more reliable life with less maintenance. By integrating this function, Törkmar makes the fitting process simpler and the overall propulsion system more compact, making life easier for boat builders.
