Talsma Shipyards

A shipyard based in Franeker, the Netherlands. We are versatile and innovative, with more than 20 years of experience in the trade. Thanks to our extensive facilities and skilled workforce, we can build, convert, maintain and repair any yacht of up to 80 metres long.

From ferries to patrol ships, fishing vessels to luxury yachts, we can handle everything: from the hull to the very last light switch. We also have all the necessary knowledge and skills to make your ship more sustainable, for example by equipping it with hybrid propulsion.

We specialize in electric propulsion systems and have extensive experience in building fully electric ships. From the hull to the technical systems, we ensure your vessel is ready for the future. Whether it’s a new build or the conversion of your existing ship, you’re in the right place with us.

At Talsma Shipyards, we manage your project from start to finish, entirely in-house. Thanks to our own steel fabrication company, Structal Metalworks, we can shape and cut the steel or aluminum ourselves.

The hull is built entirely in-house, and the complete outfitting is also done internally. This allows us to maintain full control over both the schedule and the quality, resulting in an efficient process and a high-quality end product.
