SHOCK-WBV
Engineered to protect boaters from repetitive wave impacts, SHOCK-WBV manufactures specialized seat suspension systems designed to mitigate whole-body vibration on open water. Developed, tested, and produced by British marine equipment manufacturer Sea Sure Ltd at its Hampshire facility, the product line provides high-performance shock absorption for recreational motorboats, commercial workboats, and high-speed rigid inflatable boats (RIBs).
The mechanical architecture utilizes precision CNC-machined 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminium plate paired with 316 stainless steel linkages and custom shock absorbers. By avoiding cast metal components in favor of high-integrity sheet alloy, the assembly delivers lateral rigidity, lightweight structural strength, and corrosion resistance. Built-in adjustment controls allow operators to quickly calibrate pre-load tension and damping characteristics according to passenger weight and prevailing sea conditions.
Production focuses on three primary modules designed to fit diverse seating arrangements. The C-Series supports heavy-duty helm and crew seating on commercial and military craft, the P-Series integrates onto standard pedestal mounts found on leisure motorboats, and the R-Series caters specifically to jockey seats and bench layouts on high-speed RIBs. Each unit installs directly between the deck mounting point or pedestal base and the existing seat bottom, enabling straightforward retrofits on current vessels as well as clean integration during new boat assembly.
Subjected to environmental stress testing and drop-rig validation, the suspension systems help vessel operators comply with international whole-body vibration safety standards. By dampening vertical drop forces and high-frequency vibrations, SHOCK-WBV minimizes fatigue and physical strain, ensuring safer, more comfortable navigation for professional crews and recreational mariners alike.
