OYS is an established division within the BSI Marine Equipment Group, operating from its headquarters in Christchurch, United Kingdom.

The company designs, engineers, and manufactures custom standing rigging, thrusters, and hydraulic systems for high-performance sailing yachts and large motor yachts. Since its founding in 1998, OYS has grown into a major technical supplier for global sailing superyacht projects and custom racing vessels.

Manufacturing capability centers on advanced materials, specialized rod cold heading, and precision metal fabrication. The company operates the world’s largest cold head press, capable of cold heading solid nitronic steel rod up to size 540.

The product range covers solid rod rigging, synthetic standing rigging, aluminum and titanium rigging fittings, continuous turnbuckles, underwater hydraulics, and swing thruster units. The internal engineering team manages every phase of production, from initial stress modeling and custom component design to final testing and assembly.

In addition to new equipment production, OYS maintains an extensive worldwide aftermarket and servicing division. A dedicated team of project managers works alongside a global network of authorized service centers to perform regular rig inspections, NDT testing, rigging retrofits, and five-year refit overhauls.

This international infrastructure supports yacht managers, captains, and shipyards with prompt field support, custom replacement parts, and ongoing technical service wherever vessels are located.
