MARE provides independent marine survey, adjusting, recovery, and expert witness services, focusing heavily on the luxury yachting and commercial shipping sectors. Founded in Monaco in 2014 by naval architect and marine engineer Marco Calabria, the company operates under a management-owned structure to ensure unbiased representation for its principals during claims and disputes.

The company handles hull and machinery (H&M) and protection and indemnity (P&I) claims for a diverse clientele, including superyacht technical managers, owners, investors, and specialized marine underwriters. Following a merger with the Italian surveying company Martinoli & C., the company coordinates its global operations from its Monaco headquarters, ensuring European reporting standards across all regions.

Field operations are executed through a network of regional offices and exclusive surveyors stationed in major hubs, including Miami, Genoa, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Dubai, and Montevideo. This network-based structure allows the company to deploy localized technical expertise for onsite inspections, casualty investigations, and forensic analysis while maintaining uniform processing standards.
