Magonis
Since 2020, Magonis has been dedicated to building elegant, efficient, and affordable pure-electric boats. The team—consisting of specialized designers, engineers, builders, and artisans—spent three years developing the brand’s vision, resulting in the creation of the Wave e-550 prototype in Menorca. The company’s name draws inspiration from history, referencing Portus Magonis, the ancient name for the city of Mahón.
Based in Barcelona with a production center in Figueres, Magonis operates as a trans-Mediterranean company. Its designs are inspired by the innovative spirit of Barcelona’s technology scene, while the construction process integrates the tradition and expertise associated with Italian craftsmanship. This combination allows the brand to produce vessels that prioritize performance and sustainability without sacrificing aesthetic appeal.

TECHNOLOGY
Magonis is equipped with the best technology available on the current market. We have 5-axis CNC (computer numerical control) machines that guarantee us high-precision mold manufacturing in record time.
We make all our composites at our boatyard in Figueres using vacuum infusion. That process along with our own Light X Pro™ technology ensure exceptional hull resistance, half the weight of traditionally built boats of similar length and incredible hydrodynamics.
Electric propulsion for our boats is delivered by synchronous motors. In those motors, the ratio of power supply frequency to motor revs is kept constant. Synchronous motors are generally torque-regulated, which means that they draw only the current necessary to generate the required torque at the desired revolutions.
As a result, they are often used in applications that require high torque. If the motor needs more power to maintain the desired number of revolutions, it automatically draws more electricity.
We have battery systems with a safe chemical composition: LiNMC (cobalt oxide, manganese, nickel and lithium) that exclusively use cells from the most prestigious and recognized brands. Our batteries are waterproof according to the IP67 standard and have a state-of-the-art battery management system (BMS).
