Hundested Propeller was established in 1921 in Hundested, Denmark, and operates as a key business unit within the BSI Marine Equipment Group. Over a century of continuous operation, Hundested Propeller has established itself as a global reference point for custom marine propulsion systems, serving superyacht builds, commercial fishing vessels, and workboats.

The product portfolio centers on controllable pitch (CP) propeller systems, custom marine reduction gearboxes, thrusters, and pitch-control sail drives.

Hundested Propeller manufactures CP propellers covering power outputs from 150 HP to 4500 HP, paired with matching CP gearboxes rated from 300 HP to 4500 HP. The thruster lineup includes fixed tunnel units ranging from 25 HP to 2700 HP, rotating and retracting pod thrusters up to 1400 HP, and four models of compact swing-retractable units from 25 HP to 200 HP.

Engineering and manufacturing processes take place in-house at the company’s Danish production facilities, ensuring tight quality control across all mechanical components, shaft lines, and hydraulic actuation systems. Hundested Propeller collaborates closely with naval architects, shipyards, and marine engineers to tailor each setup to specific vessel hull forms and duty cycles.

Recent developments focus on integrated hybrid propulsion systems, electric drives, and regeneration capability, allowing sailing superyachts and commercial craft to generate electrical power while under sail or cruising.
