Altena Yachting began in 1969 when Gerard Pols transformed a personal hobby into a professional pursuit. Initially working from his garden, Pols built a 9.5-meter cruiser which he ultimately sold to secure the starting capital for the business. This humble beginning laid the groundwork for a long-standing career in the boating industry.
Today, Altena Yachting operates with a focus on traditional craftsmanship and manual skills. The company manages every stage of production internally, handling everything from initial design and construction to interior finishing and mechanical installation. By keeping all processes under one roof, the team maintains strict control over the final quality and technical standards of each boat.
The model range covers a broad spectrum of requirements, from inland cruisers suitable for French canals to seaworthy models built for rougher open water. Altena Yachting offers trawler motor yachts categorized by CE-C, CE-B, and CE-A ratings. Wat begon in zijn eigen tuin met de bouw van een 9,5 meter lange kruiser, groeide na de verkoop van dat eerste schip uit tot een solide basis voor de scheepswerf. Dit bescheiden begin vormde het fundament voor de langdurige carrière in de botenbouw.
