Airmar Technology Corporation
Airmar Technology designs and produces high-performance marine sensors used across recreational boating, commercial fishing, ocean survey, meteorology, and industrial process control.
The product portfolio includes ultrasonic transducers, electromagnetic flow sensors, ultrasonic weather instruments, and sensor integration systems. Worldwide distribution and technical support operate through 11 offices spanning seven countries.
Sonar technology forms a core part of the lineup, featuring Chirp-ready transducers engineered to deliver high-resolution target separation on fishfinders and multifunction displays.
For hull monitoring, Airmar provides NMEA 2000 Smart Sensors like the DST810, which connects to the CAST mobile application so boaters can calibrate speed, depth, and temperature data directly. Speed-through-water tracking relies on the specialized G2 paddlewheel design to maintain precision across different speed ranges.
Above the deck, compact ultrasonic WeatherStation multisensors record environmental conditions without using mechanical anemometer cups or vanes. Free of moving components, these units resist salt accumulation, mechanical wear, and bird interference while delivering dynamic true wind speed and atmospheric data straight to onboard NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 networks.
The company expanded into advanced system control with the SmartBoat gateway platform. These modules convert analog or digital inputs from legacy or third-party sensors into NMEA 2000 data, making readings visible on helm displays.
Beyond basic data conversion, the architecture lets captains program custom helm alerts and set up automated onboard actions, such as triggering fuel transfer pumps between tanks based on pre-set liquid levels.
